Leo Wight is a Glasgow based artist who is currently studying at the Glasgow School of Art. He works predominantly in black and white analogue photography, combining traditional methodologies with contemporary subject matter.
He makes work about his lived experiences of the world and this is what drives the work; it is an internally focused examination of self. The work is a pursuit of understanding. It’s his way to explore his world, thoughts, feelings and experiences, which are all affected by being trans, queer, and autistic.
He works with ideas of intimacy and relationships, as well as the male nude and the idea of an ‘ideal male form.' These ideas are investigated through self-portraiture and through photographing the people close to him and the world around him.
